Training:
Carillion have trained in excess of 6,500 people in the use of video conferencing in the last 12 years or so. Many companies who invested in video conferencing systems some years ago, found that due to poorer quality then, frequent technical problems, insufficient training and lack of an individual to take ‘ownership’ of the equipment and champion it within their organisations, their systems fell into disuse and users became disillusioned with this technology.

We have different training modules to suit different customer needs and we are also able to provide structured advice on the internal marketing and promotion of the system(s) to ensure company-wide adoption of video conferencing. Our focus is to take away the ‘fear factor’ and enable people to concentrate on their meetings not the technology.

Most of our training courses are conducted over the video conferencing link from our training rooms in Maidenhead. We have found from extensive experience that this is a more successful way to train users than having the trainer sitting in the same room with them. Over the link, the people involved in the session have to use the remote and therefore quickly become more confident than when

passively watching a trainer. Some of our clients, however, prefer us to do on-site training and this can be arranged to suit.

Courses can include up to 6 people and generally last between 45 mins. and 1 hour. Training can be basic, advanced or tailored to an IT/AV professional who is going to be responsible for diagnostics, trouble-shooting etc and will always include ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ and advice on how to plan for and run a successful video meeting. Our customers are able to dial into our training room to practice and/or to seek additional help and advice during normal working hours as part of Carillion’s customer care service.

For some customers with nationwide systems and many users, we have additionally filmed training DVDs which can be an excellent aide-memoire for users after on site training has been completed. For companies with multi-sites where this option might be of interest, please ask us for details.

For audio visual installations, training is done on site and of course full documentation is always provided.
